FridgeSmart containers feature advanced ACE™ technology and a unique three-way venting system that minimises moisture and prolongs the shelf-life of your fruits and vegetables. The built-in gridded base promotes airflow, preventing moisture buildup, and the secure seal locks in freshness while preserving the taste and flavour of your produce. FridgeSmart containers allow you to store produce from the same 'breathing' group together using its ACE™ (Atmosphere Controlled Environment technology and three-way venting system: low, medium, and high. This helps keep your food fresher for longer.

How do I store my fruit and vegetables in FridgeSmart?

Remove your fruit or veg from any packaging and then simply add them straight to the FridgeSmart container. Set the switch to the setting corresponding to the diagram on the container depending on what you’re storing. We recommend that you do not wash fruit and veg before storing it in FridgeSmart. Excess water can cause unnecessary moisture, which can affect how long your food lasts. The FridgeSmart system regulates moisture levels to keep your food fresher for longer, so just wash when you’re ready to eat.

For best results store on day of purchase and before the best before date.

Should I remove all the packaging before storing fruit/veg in FridgeSmart?

Yes, you should always remove all fruit and veg from its original packaging before storing in FridgeSmart.

Can I peel/slice/chop up fruit or veg before storing?

Please do not cut or peel fruit and veg before storing in FridgeSmart, this will make it go bad faster and prevent FridgeSmart from working effectively.

Can I store different fruits/vegetables in the same container?

Foods from the same breather group – as indicated on the container and IM – can be stored together.

How do I know what setting to use?

Each FridgeSmart container has an easy-read diagram printed directly on the container showing which vent setting to use for different common fruits and vegetables.

What do the symbols mean?

FridgeSmart containers offer 3 venting options, so you can create the perfect storage conditions for all your favourite fruits and vegetables. On the diagram, the settings to use for different foods are represented by the symbols below:

Half Open: Align the tab with the half circle on the pictogram. Use this option for light venting for medium breathers.

Closed: Align the tab with the fully etched circle in the pictogram. Use this option for low breathers.

Fully Open: Align the tab with the hollow, glossy circle on the pictogram. Use this option for high breathers.

What does Not For Fridge mean?

Fruits and vegetables marked with an X on the chart, like bananas and butternut squash, should not be stored in the fridge and will do best when not stored in closed containers. Don't store these in your FridgeSmart.

How do I clean my FridgeSmart?

FridgeSmart should be cleaned after each use and just wipes clean with a soft cloth, or can go in the top shelf of a dishwasher. Ensure it's completely dry before using again.

Can I put FridgeSmart in the freezer?

FridgeSmart is not suitable for freezing but because it keeps all your fruit and veg fresher for longer in the fridge, you won’t need to freeze anything.

Can I put FridgeSmart in the microwave?

FridgeSmart is not suitable for microwaves.

Can I put FridgeSmart in the dishwasher?

Yes, top shelf only.

How big are FridgeSmart containers?

FridgeSmart Small measures W 14.2cm x H 6.8cm x L 18.8cm and has a capacity of 800ml, ideal for lemon and lime wedges, strawberries, and other small veggies.

FridgeSmart Small Deep measures W 14.cm x H 13.4cm x L 18.8cm and has a capacity of 1.8L, perfect for everything from berries and grapes to even some larger fruits and vegetables.

What can I store in BreadSmart?

BreadSmart is perfect for storing all kinds of breads and bakery items, including sweet or savoury loaves, bread rolls, baguettes, bagels, teacakes, crumpets, muffins, doughnuts, non-filled pastries and more.

How do I use my BreadSmart?

Always remove all packaging from your bread or bakery products before placing them inside the BreadSmart container.

When removing bread of bakery products from BreadSmart, replace the lid immediately. Leaving the lid off for long periods or repeatedly removing and replacing the lid will reduce its effectiveness.

Should I remove packaging before storing in the BreadSmart?

After purchasing your bread or bakery items remove all packaging, place inside the BreadSmart container and place the lid on to the base.

The lid doesn’t seal/the lid isn’t airtight

The BreadSmart lid is not designed to seal to the base. The CondensControl™ technology works best when air is able to flow.

My loaf is too tall to fit in my BreadSmart Junior

Some loaves can be quite tall but don’t worry, you can still store the loaf in BreadSmart, just place the loaf on its side.

Where should I keep my BreadSmart?

BreadSmart should be kept inside a cupboard or pantry, out of direct sunlight.

Can I store BreadSmart in the Fridge?

We don’t recommend placing BreadSmart in a fridge, as this will cause high humidity inside the container and reduce its effectiveness.

Yes, CheeSmart containers are dishwasher safe.

Do I wrap cheese before putting in Cheesmart or do I put it in unwrapped?

Unwrapped for any semi-hard or hard cheese. Brie and other similar items might be better preserved in cheese wrap or waxed paper. A really smelly cheese might be better suited to its own space.

Can I mix different cheeses in the containers?

Cheeses can be mixed, except those with very high humidity content (Gorgonzola, very fresh goat cheese etc.)

The reversible tray can be used on both sides, allowing you to store cheeses of different heights. You can also use the deep side for serving cheese with liquid, like mozzarella or feta. It's also perfect for serving and storing butter!
