How does it offer ‘true’ steaming in the microwave? / What is ‘true’ steaming?

The ingenious Shielded Colander and Cover block the microwaves. Microwaves can only reach the water in the bottom part and will heat the water, which generates steam to cook the food inside the colander.

How do I care for my Multicooker?

  • Observe recommended fill levels for various foods.
  • Always use two hands and oven mitts to move filled Smart Multicooker by its handles
  • Do not use sharp or metal utensils.
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Safe for use in microwave
  • Not freezer safe

  • Not safe for use with grill/broil function
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Micro Urban can be cleaned with hot soapy water or all components can go in the dishwasher.

How do I store my Micro Urban?

Save space, store the Micro Urban Large nesting and stacking all the components in the following order: 

  1. Place the Shielded Cover under the Base.
  2. Put the Shielded Colander inside of the Base.
  3. Followed by the Shallow Colander.
  4. Then place the Grain Insert and Grain Cover on top.

How do I cook rice/grains in the Micro Urban?

Use the Base, Grain Insert and Grain Cover.
  1. Rinse grains before cooking, unless otherwise stated on the package.
  2. Place grains, or rice, and water in the Base.
  3. Do not exceed the maximum amount of grains and water as indicated by the “MAX” line located under the Grain Cooking logo on the inside wall of the Base.
  4. Place the Grain Insert and Grain Cover on the Base, make sure handles on the cover are aligned with the ones on the Base.
  5. Microwave according to the “Cooking rice and other grains chart” on the leaflet, at 900 watts, for no more than 30 minutes, and allow to stand for the indicated time.
  6. Fluff the grains after cooking and standing time with a non‑scratch utensil.

How do I steam in the Micro Urban?

  1. To steam, use the Base, Shielded Colander, Shallow Colander (optional) and the Shielded Cover.
  2. Pour 400ml/14 fl oz cold water into the Base.
  3. Place the Shielded Colander on the Base and stack the Shallow Colander on top.
  4. Cover with the Shielded Cover. Microwave at 900 watts for the time indicated in the recipe or in the “Steam cooking guidelines” in the leaflet and never exceeding 30 minutes cooking time.
  5. Allow to stand for approx. 5 min.

How do I cook pasta in the Micro Urban?

  1. Use the Base only. Do not cover when cooking pasta.
  2. Pour max 500 g pasta into the Base and add water until the max filling line for pasta.
  3. Microwave at 900 watts for twice the time indicated on the pasta package (increase or decrease by up to 5 min. according to your taste).
  4. Never exceed 30 minutes cooking time.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?

Yes, Multi Cooker is dishwasher safe.
